My Top 12 Breastfeeding Must Haves
Keep reading below for my top 12 items and why I love them.

Breast Milk Collection and Pumping
Haakaa Silicone Milk Collector: This hands-free milk collector is the first thing you should add to your registry! This little gold mine is how I built my low-maintenance breast milk freezer stash without pumping. You can read my post on how to do that here.
Portable Breast Pump: This little hospital grade pump is perfect for on-the-go milk collection. I highly recommend it if you ever plan to pump in the car or away from home because it’s compact, easy to travel with, and gets the job done.
Nursing On-the-Go Essentials
Wired Nursing Cover: Whatever you do, don’t get the poncho! It’s so hard, especially at the beginning, to successfully breastfeed and be able to see your baby with the poncho covers. This 100% cotton cover with the hoop is the best thing since sliced bread and I will never go back!
Cotton Nursing Tanks: These 100% cotton tanks make nursing on-the-go so much easier. Out of all the nursing clothes I purchased I would get these over and over again because of how versatile, functional, and easy to use they are.
Breastfeeding Comfort and Wellness Essentials
Organic Nipple Cream: This little jar saved my life in the beginning. I put it on my sore nipples religiously after every feed to avoid cracked or bleeding nipples. The reason I love this product above so many others is that it’s natural, organic, and safe for babies so you don’t have to wipe it off every time you go to feed again. A definite must-have item–and not a bad idea to have 2 so one can live in the diaper bag and you’re never left hanging.
Silver Nipple Cup Shields: I used my nipple cream significantly more than I used nipple shields but having these on hand for when your nipples get so raw that even wearing your bra hurts is super helpful! I also liked putting them in the freezer so that they were extra cold when I put them on. Just note that you can’t put nipple cream under the shields. It's a one or the other situation but both are great to have on hand.
Natural Lactation Supplement: When you get a clogged duct, this natural lecithin-free supplement helps clear those ducts without the seed oil pills many doctors recommend. This product is definitely worth having on hand to clear out your clogged ducts and prevent mastitis. I also recommend checking out my post on how I prevent clogged ducts here.
Nursing Bras and Support
Cotton Nursing Bralettes: I personally hate sleeping with bras on but these cotton bralettes are comfy for daily and nightly wear and make it easy to breastfeed. I practically live in them and love that they’re so affordable versus many other brands.
Adjustable Nursing Bras: These bras are great! They’re super supportive, come with an extender to make the fit comfortable, and are easy to use. I would definitely buy them again.
Reusable Nursing Pads: Postpartum nipple leakage is inevitable. These reusable bamboo nursing pads will help save your clothes and extend the life of your bras and are a must-have. They’re easy to use, withstand multiple washes, and are comfortable.
Breastfeeding Support and Accessories
Boppy Nursing Pillow: Last but not least this breastfeeding pillow is a must-have. It makes feeding on the couch, in your bed, or in your chair at home easier and more pleasant. The pillow holds the weight of your baby so you can be handsfree to do things like read these helpful articles I worked so hard to create for you!
Cotton Burp Cloths: You will definitely use these often. The reason I love these ones is because they’re soft cotton and won’t irritate your baby’s delicate skin since their face will be on them often. The last thing I want my baby’s face to rub up against on a regular basis is microfiber with its microplastics if I can help it.
I hope this helps you even if it’s just a little! I know I wish I had this article when I was creating my baby registry.
I am working on a diapering must-haves list next with the best low-tox natural diapers, wipes, and creams on the market and our honest reviews on them and will link it here when it's ready.
